The Theme for 2024 – Gratitude

It’s New Year’s Eve. The dawn of another year, another era, another chapter in our book of life.

As this year comes to a close, may we keep those enduring continued hardships and suffering near and dear to our hearts.

The running theme as we enter 2024 is simply being grateful. Grateful to even have the opportunity to look to a new year, where so many do not, grateful to wake up to a new day, when so many do not.

Gratitude is what it’s all about.

As we look toward a new year, may we:

  • Live with purpose – Make each day count. Stay focused on your personal goals and manifesting them. Don’t let the power of procrastination get in the way of becoming the best version of yourself.

  • Prioritize your peace – Peace is money. Without our inner peace, we don’t have anything.

  • Be kind – I know it’s cliched, but many people go through silent battles that you know nothing about. So before being quick to pass judgment, practice kindness and empathy for that positive energy could warm up a person’s day without you even realizing it.

  • Be patient – Everything comes together when it is meant to. Trust the timing, trust the process.

  • Practice self-care, always – Health is wealth. As the saying goes, if you’re not happy with yourself, you can’t be happy around others. Keeping your mental, emotional, and physical well-being in alignment is a must.

  • Stay true to yourself – In society, there is a constant reinforcement to ‘fit in’ with the masses – to be liked and feel validated. But life is entirely too short to live inauthentically. Always live your truth, even if it means being misunderstood. and the people who are meant to be in your life will get you, and they will support you.

  • Rejoice in meaningful connections – This goes for anyone in your life that uplifts you – whether it’s family, friends, or even our beloved pets! If their presence warms your heart and brings a smile to your face, make it a priority to always reinforce and protect that energy.

  • Embrace a good laugh – It truly is the best stress reliever.

  • Normalize limiting your social media time – I know this one can be challenging. I shuddered the last time I checked my Instagram screen time, but it’s a daily reminder to tell yourself that living life through your own eyes rather than your phone constantly can be a game-changer!

  • Maintain healthy boundaries – If the vibe feels off, remember that it’s perfectly okay to keep a reasonable distance to protect your inner peace. Life is too short for mixed signals.

  • Read a good book – Okay, I need to remind myself of this. I am currently in the middle of a few books, but my main challenge is actually finishing them. Anyone else have the same problem?

  • Listen to feel-good music – Whatever your feel-good vibe is, let yourself get lost in it. Lately, I’ve been listening to Usher and H.E.R’s latest song called Risk It All from the new The Colour Purple soundtrack and it is amazing. Beautiful vocals and harmony and, for me, a taste of the ’90s R&B that a lot of us miss.

  • Find gratitude in everything – Every moment that we have on this planet is to be treasured. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Learn to pick and choose your battles, forgive, and move on. It’s more burdensome to hold grudges than to embrace the freedom of forgiveness.

May we enter 2024 with a vision to elevate ourselves and keep peace at the center of our happiness.

Lots of love and blessings to all of you. Happy New Year.
