Hello beautiful people, I haven’t posted in some time. I hope you are all doing well.
It’s that time of the year again – the holiday season. A time of winter warmth, hot chocolate, and holiday cheer. Christmas is a mere month away and before you blink, it will be 2024.
Admittedly, the holiday season does feel heavier than usual this year with all the turmoil going on in the Middle East. As I go about my regular activities, the heartbreaking images of the sheer brutality are constantly replaying in the back of my mind. It’s extremely draining mentally and emotionally.
However, what I feel completely dwarfs the real, physical terror those innocent civilians go through on a regular basis.
As we look to another year coming to a close, we can only hope that our pleas for peace will resonate and put an end to all these atrocities. The current conflict is under a ‘humanitarian pause’ or a ‘suspension of hostilities’ to allow for aid to help the wounded and suffering but what about the literal thousands of lives that have already been lost? This pause and sudden calm is a mere temporary sense of relief so how can anyone feel any real ease? We need a complete cessation of the violence.
As we continue to pray for world peace; in our own personal lives, we have to carry forward each day with grace, gratitude, and kindness. We need to create our own light amid the darkness so that the dreariness of everything happening around us doesn’t consume us. Consider giving to charitable causes and know that your generosity is making an impact and putting a smile on someone’s face.
If making resolutions is something that brings you a sense of discipline, joy, and focus for the year ahead, then by all means, make those personal goals and do your best to stick to them, whatever they may be.
Focus on your inner peace, mental health and physical well-being, for those are the true luxuries in life. Invest your time and energy in the things that bring you joy and in the people that amplify your peace and happiness. Take care of yourself so that you can take care of others and continue to shine bright.
I wish you all peace, good health and prosperity this holiday season and beyond.
