Brighten Up the Darker Days

Welp.

We have officially entered the ‘dark at 4’ era. It always feels like you’re in the twilight zone when you look out the window at 4:15pm and it looks like you should be getting ready for bed. *Sigh*

The errands you would normally run in the late afternoon/early evening, feel harder to get done simply because it just feels so much later than it really is.

To reverse this doom-and-gloom feeling that takes over us at this time of the year, I decided to get highlights recently. I figured that if the days are getting shorter and the sun won’t be out as long, I might as well keep my hair glowing. LOL

The last time I coloured my hair was about 4 and a half years ago and the colour had since completely grown out. So after enjoying my natural colour for some time, I decided that it was time for a change! And I’m glad I did because I do like them. It feels refreshing.

After the year and a half we’ve had (and the seemingly never-ending Covid-talk), we need to celebrate all the small wins – including a new hairdo! =)

In the end, it’s truly all in the mindset. Your thoughts perpetuate how your day will manifest. It may sound cliched, but it’s very true. If you try to focus on positive things, you’ll generally feel more at ease, less anxious, and just feel an overall sense of calm and peace. The gloominess of the ‘darker’ days will no longer take over, and instead, your inner light will continue to shine throughout.
