It’s almost that time again

Hello lovelies, happy Friday.

I don’t know about you – but I’ve had it with Old Man Winter! *insert annoyed emoji here*

Here in the GTA, it seems like snow methodically plans to make its very unwanted appearance, just in time for the weekend! Not cool. Last week, we had a major dumping which sidelined pretty much everything, and here we are a week later dealing with yet another, albeit less intense, blast today. *Sigh*

But, as they say, there is always light at the end of the tunnel. And in this case, that light is in the form of daylight saving time!

The reality is, as much as we complain, if we didn’t have to deal with the harshness of winter here, we wouldn’t really appreciate the brighter, warmer days to come – which the time change always symbolizes.

Sure, you lose an hour of sleep, but the idea of prolonged daylight far outweighs the loss of that hour, in my opinion. Plus, I think you only really feel the effects of it for the first day or so, anyway.

There is also something subtly uplifting about it being light out past 9 P.M! Though, it’s never cool when it’s the other way around, right? Pitch black at 4 P.M? No thank you! Hence why I find that the time change brings about a renewed sense of hope and optimism for brighter days ahead – and that’s always a plus.

And if you’ve ever wondered why we even practice daylight saving time, I leave you with some interesting facts surrounding the origins of the phenomenon from this article on mental floss.

Have a great weekend….and don’t forget to Spring Forward! 🙂
