The Run for the Cure 2018: Another Year Closer to Winning the Fight

CIBC Run for the Cure

Yesterday marked the 27th annual CIBC Run for the Cure. The event brought over 80,000 Canadians from various parts of the country together for one special cause: the relentless fight against breast cancer. I am so proud to see that we collectively raised over $16 Million which will go towards life-saving breast cancer research, support programs, and so much more.

There is something so special about taking part in an event like this with like-minded people. You could just feel the love all around. The mood was so positive and uplifting and what was especially heart-warming was to see people of all varying ages coming out to take part with huge smiles and enthusiasm.

I took this pic mid-run to get a candid shot of the activity. As you can see, there is no competition here. Everyone was going at their own pace, and it was really all about the cause and not at all about who reached the finishing line first.

I encourage everyone to take part in this initiative. Events like this have contributed greatly to significant advancements in breast cancer prevention, detection and treatment.

Not only is it for a great cause, but you get a great workout in the process! My one recommendation though is try and put a bit of time into training for the run beforehand so you’re not insanely sore the next day. 🙂 Although it is almost a ‘good pain’ since it acts as a reminder of the hard work and energy put it for a greater good.

Each year, we are one step closer to beating this disease. With all of us banding together and spreading our communal love and light, we are bound to overcome it once and for all.

God Bless.
