Happy New Year, beautiful people!
I hope 2017 has been off to a wonderful start for all of you.
I just recently returned from an amazing holiday in the beautiful Mexican Pacific. Stay tuned for a post on all the adventures from the trip!
Right now, I want to take a moment to reiterate the true importance of a new year: it’s not about making resolutions – I gave up on that a long time ago. Resolutions are well-intentioned but more often than not, are broken before the end of January – if not sooner.
What a new year should really be about is positive changes, continuous evolvement, and a never-ending quest for happiness. There is simply no room for stagnation.
I emphasized on the “continuous” part because often times, we get caught up in this unrealistic ideal that as soon as the calendar turns to January 1st, we have to suddenly become a different person. That’s not how it works. Any changes you strive to make for yourself need to be fluid, not the haphazard concept of “stop and go”. What matters is what is in your head, what your intentions are about yourself and those around you. That mindset needs to be in place well before the stroke of midnight – only then will the train of happiness continue to move forward in the new year.
So here’s to ditching resolutions and focusing on a bright and happy year and beyond!
